The story of a man: my father
In this paper, I would like to tell you the story of a man who has been through a lot in his life, but despite all the difficulties, he did not give up and fought for a better future. This man is my father. My father is a very strong and resilient person, and I admire him for that. He has gone through a lot of hardships in his life, but he has always kept fighting and never gave up.
2. The story of a man
My father was born in Houma, Louisiana, in the United States of America. He is the oldest child in his family and has two younger sisters. His father was an abusive alcoholic, and his mother was a stay-at-home mom. When my father was growing up, he witnessed a lot of violence in his home and was often scared for his life. When he was eighteen years old, he decided to leave home and never came back.
My father had to fend for himself from a very young age. He did not have any money or education, so he had to take odd jobs to make ends meet. He worked as a janitor, a construction worker, and even as a garbage man. Despite all the difficulties, he never gave up and always kept fighting for a better life.
When my father was twenty-one years old, he met my mother. They got married shortly after they met and had three children together: myself, my brother, and my sister. My father always wanted to provide for his family and give us a better life than he had growing up, so he went back to school to get his GED. After he got his GED, he enrolled in community college and then transferred to Nicholls State University, where he graduated with a degree in social work.
My father has always been very passionate about helping others, so after he graduated from college, he started working at Assisi Bridge House, which is a shelter for homeless people in New Orleans. He worked there for many years and helped many people get back on their feet again. He then started working at Tulane University as a social worker helping students who were struggling with mental health issues or addiction problems. He has been working at Tulane University for over twenty years now and has helped countless students get their lives back on track.
3. His attitude to life
My father has always been a very positive person despite all the difficulties he has faced in his life. He is always looking on the bright side of things and is always trying to help others. He is an incredibly generous person and has always been there for me and my siblings when we need him. He is also a very hard worker and is always trying to improve himself. Even though he didn’t have much growing up, he made sure that we had everything we needed and more.
4. His education
As I mentioned before, my father didn’t have much growing up. He didn’t have the opportunity to go to school because he had to start working at a very young age to help support his family. Despite all of that, he made sure that we had the opportunity to go to school and get an education. He always stressed the importance of education and told us that it was the best way to improve our lives.
5. Addiction to alcohol and drugs
My father has always had a problem with addiction. He started drinking alcohol when he was a teenager and quickly developed a dependence on it. He has also struggled with drug addiction throughout his life. Despite all of his struggles, he has always been honest about his problems and has never tried to hide them from us. He has also always been open to getting help and has even gone to rehabilitation centers multiple times to try to overcome his addiction.
6. Dreams and goals for life
My father has always been very ambitious and has always had big dreams for his life. When he was younger, his dream was to get out of Houma and never look back. He wanted to make something of himself and show his abusive father that he could be successful in life without him. After he met my mother and had children, his goal was to provide for his family and give us a better life than he had growing up. He has always been very generous and has even given money to family members or friends who are going through tough times.
In conclusion, my father is an amazing person who has gone through a lot in his life but has always kept fighting. He is a very strong and resilient person, and I admire him for that. He has always been there for me and my siblings, and I am very grateful for that. I know that he has had a lot of struggles in his life, but I also know that he is a very kind and caring person who always wants to help others.
