Burmese Days is a novel by George Orwell, published in 1934. The story is based on his experience as a British expatriate in Burma, during the 1920s. The plot of the book is centered on poignant character of John Flory. He is a manager of logging company, situated in the non-real town of Kyauktada in Upper Burma.
