The Godfather: A Technical and Associated Elements Masterpiece

The Godfather is a good combination of technical and associated elements which are equally clear, a few of which earn extraordinary credits. Cinematography is the chief among these. Gordon Willis' photography is as magnificent as ever, making use of light, dark, color and shadow in much the same way as director Francis Ford Coppola did with his own movies. And like those films, this one also features an extensive use of montage sequences which are both interesting and effective. The sound is also very good. The mix of music and dialog is excellent, and the film's overall sound design is very effective. The acting is also very good. Marlon Brando gives one of his best performances in years as Don Vito Corleone, and Al Pacino is also very good as Michael Corleone. The rest of the cast is also very good, including James Caan
