The Army Signal Corps in the Cold War

The Army Signal Corps was responsible for communication during the Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, and the Cold War. The Signal Corps developed a system of visual signaling using wigwag flags which was adopted by the entire U.S. Army. The Signal Corps also established the first radio communication between the United States and Europe, and developed new techniques for combat photography.
