This essay looks at the changing roles of fathers and mothers in Eastern and Western cultures. It discusses how, in traditional Japanese families, fathers were the head of households and responsible for making all the decisions while mothers took care of the children and did household chores. However, in modern Japanese families, fathers are not always the head of households anymore and mothers are now working outside of the home as well. They are still responsible for taking care of their children but they are also more likely to do household chores than they used to be..
