The Artificiality of Psychoanalysis: A Critique

This essay will critically examine the issue of artificiality in psychoanalysis, with a particular focus on the work of Sigmund Freud. It will be argued that whilst the criticisms of artificiality can be applied in other sub-disciplines of psychology, such as abnormal psychology, social psychology, and organizational psychology, they are particularly relevant in the case of psychoanalysis.
