Orchestra Concert Report: Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Schoenberg, and Barber

The concert featured the works of Johann Strauss II, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Arnold Schoenberg, and Samuel Barber. The first half was conducted by Andreas Delfs and featured the Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major, Op. 11 by Strauss, the Rococo Variations for Cello and Orchestra, Op. 33 by Tchaikovsky, and Perpetuum mobile, Op. 257 by Strauss. The second half was conducted by Yan Pascal Tortelier and featured the String Orchestra Version of Schoenberg's Chamber Symphony No. 1 in E major, Op. 9 and Barber's Adagio for Strings, Op. 11.
