Different Styles of Modern American Poetry
Modern American poets have different styles of writing. However, all of them have something in common – their poems are always full of emotion and beautiful images. The best examples of such poetry are the poems The Painter’s Song and Full Moon.
The Painter’s Song is a beautiful poem about the painter’s love for his art. The painter compares his art to the beauty of a woman: “I love her as I love my art”. The poet uses many metaphors and similes to describe the painter’s feelings. For example, he compares the painter’s love for his art to the love of a man for a woman: “I love her as I love my art, / As I love the morning star.”
The Full Moon is an allegorical poem about the moon. The poet uses many metaphors to describe the moon. For example, he compares the moon to a “silver boat” and “a white dove”. The poet also uses similes to compare the moon to other objects: “The moon is like a silver boat / That sails among the stars.”
Both poems are written in different styles. However, both poems are full of emotion and beautiful images.
